When Legacy Meets Innovation And Tradition Meets Transformation
The Brief
The young 3rd generation scion of ‘Chandana Bros’ a multi-generational, departmental family store was keen to modernize their traditional business in lieu of evolving shopper needs.
Inspired by his global travel, he aimed to bring a contemporary experience to Visakhapatnam. Set over 22,000 sq ft, the flagship store catered to the price-conscious local residents as well as nearby towns and villages.
Set over 22,000 sq ft, the flagship store catered to the price-conscious local residents as well as nearby towns and villages.
Challenges
A fragmented merchandise assortment, overstocked with scattered placements, dated mannequins and stlying techniques, atypical product on poor quality non-standard hangers, the complexities were many.
Approach
Along with the renovation, we planned the store for 3 M’s: Modenization, Modularization & Minimilaism.
Next was a deep dive in the space-sales-stock analysis to arrive at an optimized and profitable layout. Followed by ironing out tough wrinkles such as messy adjacencies, incorrect materials etc.
We then devised a VM strategy wherein the store would be well-maintained at all times by the retail staff as they did not have a robust in-house VM team
The Impact
• The façade was a digital delight.
• A smooth, harmonious and intuitive store layout optimized for high GMROF.
• The VM was attesting with zer0 maintenance.
• Sharp on-brand Visual Communication.
CMR Fashions became the Talk & Toast of town. The brand signed us up for another 8+ stores.
